{plantings 2}

blue hosta moved to the berm. added astilbe in it's place. a bit of fern like texture. this patch looks much improved.

spent time prepping next years vegetable garden location.

looking forward to my many indoor projects soon. including painting the white walls white.

{plantings}

hydrangea macrophylla seafoam

ancient japanese species thought to be the original macrophylla varietal. often grown by the seashore. lacetop mophead, hope to alter to blue with time by augmenting the dirt with sulphur.

hydrangea macrophylla peace

new for 2012, created in japan. a large white mophead, smaller growth spread

as you can see, we did some removal. plan to move the bluer green plants, but will wait for cooler fall planting temperatures.

round window, just about done. not perfect, but much improved for now.

{round window}

been working on this window all day. a lot of damage. can't fix it, but i can improve the appearance and stability. don't think Bill's builder executed the idea very well. need to at least prime it today. using oil.

diy {progress}

late summer sun streaming through the trees. loving the stain color.

trim left for next year, but freshly washed. need to pick a paint color for the decking, the current brown has too much red in it. leaning towards a cement color.

the remainder of the house is higher. may have to be hired most out next spring including repairing the wall.

i've lost track of the gallons of stain. maybe 14 so far.

{tired but proud}

8 hours with a paint brush. up, down the big ladder. yes & i finished the circle wall thanks to my amazing dad who turned 77 a few days ago! (he actually wanted to paint it for me, but maybe it was a bit of trickery to get me to finish it myself). it's not a perfect staining job, but heck. not too bad. i'm completely beat. don't even have energy to clean up for the evening.

sipping a nero and relaxing. a gorgeous evening.

planting

i'm pretty bad at editing the landscape. so, yesterday mom decided i needed to yank out one of the bushes in this little patch. much better (for now).

today. i resume the painting project. i was on pause for 2 days. it rained monday.

expecting the mason any day now.
